Global Gap GRASP

Good Agricultural Practice is not just about products; it’s also about people.

GLOBALG.A.P GRASP is an add-on designed to complement the GLOBAL GAP Certification towards social aspects. GRASP stands for GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice, and is a voluntary ready-to-use module developed to assess social practices on the farm, addressing specific aspects of workers’ health, safety and welfare. The GRASP assessment is valid for one year and assessments are conducted annually.

GRASP helps growers establish a good social management system on their farms. It offers buyers added assurance. And it helps protect one of the farm’s most important resources: its people.

The objective of the standard is to support companies in documenting the history of the product, allowing it to trace its location and origin at any time. In practice, following the path of each production lot along the supply chain and therefore making it traceable, means performing a series of operations aimed at collecting the data that are generated each time a production phase is completed along the supply chain, at any point in the same you are here. The voluntary ISO 22005 standard on traceability is also very requested as a requirement to demonstrate the origin of the products and raw materials used.

It is also important to underline how the ISO 22005 certification contributes to guaranteeing consumer safety and protecting it against possible food frauds, especially concerning the origin of the product.
